The Next Steps . . .

Hey everyone!

Hope you all are having a great finish to 2018 and looking forward to 2019

I've been quietly working and planning on my next steps with music.  Learning more about what I want personally within music and with what I do creatively.  2019 will be a year of sharing my journey, sharing my growth in the process, sharing my work with all of you.  And I wouldn't really call it work, it's a lot of fun.  I love to create.  I'm entranced by what makes us all human.  I've experienced a lot of growth personally and professionally this past year and I'm really learning what I like and what I don't like when it comes to creating.  What I like doing vs what I don't like doing.  I've had a mentor in music tell me that it's important what you define as successful in music.  Some people define success as being able to play a concert every night.  Others have to be rich and famous to be successful.  It's important to define what you want so you know when you have what you wanted.

What if . . .

What if I told you, you can do anything?

What if I told you, you can have whatever you want?

What if I told you, all it took was something so simple, a secret of the ages?

What if I told you, and you did it, and got everything you ever wanted?

Would you go after it?  Would you do what's necessary to attract what you want into your life?

YES!

The secret is to stop hoping and start doing.  Do what it takes to move closer toward what you want.  Move closer and if things don't work out adjust.  Keep adjusting until you get what you want.  Keep adjusting until you arrive. 

What you'll realize once you get there, is it was never about arriving to begin with.

It was all about the journey and who you become in the process.

Become someone great today and every day. 

There's nothing holding you back any more.

Progress Not Perfection

Sometimes it's not about doing everything right.  Sometimes it's about just doing something to move you closer to your goal.  Yesterday I felt as if I was biting off more than I can chew with my Purpose and Give Back Tour.  And then I thought, put in the work and the results will happen.  Everything will work out.  You just have to believe in yourself.  Which brings up another thing I'm excited to announce.  I submitted a single for distribution using reverbnation.  It will be submitted to all the major online streaming services.  I will keep you updated once you can listen to it and add it to all your favorite playlists.  If you haven't heard the song, listen to it HERE

Traveling Man . . .

I'm a travelin man.  I come from nowhere, going somewhere, going to live the best I can.  I told no one, there was a sign.  Woke up with a dream, don't let time disappear.  Are you hungry, are you broken down, I can't give you nothing, I won't steal your crown.  Living sideways, Time for the weekend, Time for the triumph, If you knew where I came from, You'd ask how does he do it, I guess it's what I'm made of.  Steel and ice run through my veins, Getting colder, I'm not here to explain.  They say if the glove fits you're a guilty man, they say you get one final wish, oh look what you've done.  I'm a traveling man.  I come from nowhere, I saw this sign somewhere, going to take me back home.  Every time, every time.  I strum this guitar, I hear angels calling me tonight.  I hear angels calling me home.  It's time, it's time, to change these old strings, to make a new life, and let the past fade into dreams.

Strange Dreams . . .

I've always been interested in dreams and the psychology behind dreams.  Asking myself why I have certain dreams.  What the symbols in dreams mean?  It's always been so intriguing to me.  I also wake up with songs in my head, sometimes my own, sometimes other artists.  They play as if from a radio.  Does this ever happen to you?  It's like where do ideas come from?  They just drift into my mind while I sleep.  They are a constant gift I receive that I'm meant to share.  Sometimes I appreciate the gift more than others.  Other times I just think that it is no good and I can do way better.  The thing I have to remember is to celebrate the activity.  Celebrate the work along the way.  I get the opportunity to wake up and do so many things I love and I appreciate those moments.  Are there still things about what I do that I don't love, of course, but appreciating them makes it so much better.  Gratitude has become even more present in my life and it's been amazing to see the ripple effect in those around me.  What are you grateful for right now?  I'd love to know.  It's also powerful to write it down.

The countdown begins for my tour, 55 days til I go.  There is still so much to be done and I have so much that I don't know how to even do.  I've let that stop me in the past, oh well I don't know how to do this, therefore I'm not going to do it.  Now I just tell myself I will figure it out as I go.  And when I make mistakes I will learn from them.

Just Thinking

I've always been creative.  I feel like everyone is creative, just most people don't allow their creativity to flourish.  Or they compare their own sense of creativity with the creativity of someone who has been working at their own craft for years and years.  We all start somewhere.  Where ever you are, I encourage you to start.  What if it's the best thing that ever happened to you?  What decision can you make today that you'll never look back from?  What resonates with you?  What makes you come alive?

Updates on the tour, I missed a day yesterday of my planning session so I've committed to working on my tour and music for at least 2 hours today.  If you don't know since I went to the Passion Summit, I've committed to working on planning the tour and my music for at least an hour a day Monday through Friday.  I think so often people have these goals and dreams they want to pursue but never actually make any time for what they want.  Make time for what you want and what's important to you regardless of what's going on in your life.  You can make the time.  Find an extra hour, an extra half hour, an extra 15 minutes.  Whatever it is, find the time to do it and to go after it.

Stay Inspired

This is something inspired by The Passion Summit that I was at the last 2 days. Thanks Carey Smolensky, everyone who spoke and everyone at the event for playing full out. It was one of the best events I've been to and exactly what I needed. Going to many different events one strategy I've learned is to not leave an event without making a decision on a new action or a new habit. This is something new I'm doing and something I'm passionate about sharing. The goal is to go on a multi city tour for my music in July. I don't know all the details yet but I wanted to share the commitment and get help with the plans. Along the way I will also be raising money for Angel Wings International, inspired by a conversation w/ Carl Drew If you're in one of the cities listed and can help please let me know. If you're not on one of the cities listed but think I should come to your city let me know. This will be an evolution and it definitely won't be perfect. Also if anyone knows any festivals I can be a part of in July or can connect me to places I can apply, you'd be my hero. Thanks for reading, thanks for listening and stay inspired!
